Why have I not yet achieved my goals?

In this article, you'll find some questions that will help you find the answers to achieve your goals.-

What do I want, and how am I determined to achieve it?

The answer to this and other questions could be different for groups or individuals with a common purpose with a specific goal since we all have different fundamental values, which include our rights, democracy, freedom, and equality and which centered on the belief are on that each individual has the right and choice to achieve prosperity and success regardless of our circumstances; whatever our responses are, our core values determine them.

What are my core values?

"Our core values" are beliefs that guide our thinking, decisions, actions, and behaviors, producing a sense of purpose and self-esteem. These values remind us of what is essential and what we want more of. A simple definition of values is "what matters to us." Now, "what matters to us" could change daily, every minute, depending on each individual's needs, priorities, environment, or circumstances.

Acting following our values can be challenging. Anything, from our weaknesses to our circumstances, can go against our values and put our goals at risk. It is also essential to understand that our values often conflict with other people's or groups' values, and difficulties may overwhelm you. Fortunately, with some help, we can focus and take the right path to achieve them. You remember the adage that says, "Don't worry; get busy" There are methods that could help you live more consciously following your values. For example:

  • Join people or groups whose values are not in contradiction with yours
  • Write your list of values.
  • Review your list of values at least once a month to assess whether you are acting in accordance with them.
  • Plan your actions according to your values
  • Print your list of values to consult them whenever you feel that you are deviating from your goals
  • Create alarms on your phone with your list of values
  • If something is going differently than you thought or planned, learn from your mistakes and ask yourself what you could do differently.

  • When prioritizing, you must first consider your values; otherwise, you will always feel bad about yourself and, ironically, will not even understand why.

Some of the most common Values are:

Appreciation. Respect, Ethic,  Altruism, Attentiveness, Courage, Compassion, Determination, Empathy, Equanimity, Generosity, Humility, Honesty, Integrity, Kindness, Loyalty, Spirituality, Selflessness, Self-Reliance,  Selflessness, Tolerance Trustworthiness

The values mentioned above are virtues attributed to a person's qualities, nobility, and integrity of a person. These values would guide us throughout life regardless of any situation and can't be taken from us.

Now when we talk about goals, settings, prosperity, and success, there is a thin line between our values and what we will, could, or would do, and how we approach the circumstances to feed the needs to produce the results that we want, without affecting our core values. That is a complicated topic for most of us, especially when achieving prosperity and success. If you haven't read it just yet, I recommend you to read more in chapter 3: "The Code of Personality" in the book "You Can Do It, Overcome Yourself To Succeed.

Our values do not always have to be the same, and our priorities can change according to our life experiences, whether because of something we gain or losing someone we love. Our Values can change as we mature; as a result, our priorities can change too, which is why some Coaches recommend that we review or rewrite our Values at least once a year, while others recommend every six months. As a Master of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Master Hypnotherapist, I dare to say that it is vital to evaluate our list of values every three months if we want to know if we are acting in alignment with them and prioritize the actions that will help us achieve our goals, our objectives.
